- Flush the water heater (standard tank only)
- Check operation of water heater
- Check all faucets for leaks
- Check all tub and shower fixtures for leaks and proper drainage
- Check all outdoor hose bibs for leaks
- Check all toilets for leaks, proper flushing operation, and drainage
- Check all accessible drain pipes and traps for leaks and for proper drainage
- Check all accessible hot and cold water piping for leaks and corrosion
- Check water meter and clock for household leaks, if accessible
- Check incoming water pressure to the home
- Check garbage disposal, if applicable
